Abstract (en)
Industrial activities are a major source of air, water and land pollution, leading to illness and loss of life all over the world. Industrial production processes account for a considerable share of the overall pollution in Lithuania. It becomes a pollutant when concentrations of the substance are too great to sustain health in any given place. The problems of environmental pollution also reflect basic aspects of inter-group discrimination, in which the imbalance of power between polluters and victims, if rectified to some extent, results in an alleviation of the pollution problem itself.
