Abstract (en)

Following the recommendations of the European Council meeting (Barcelona, 2002) and Article 162 of the Implementation Plan of the World Summit on Sustainable Development Meeting in Johannesburg (2002), the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in September of 2003 has adopted the National Strategy for Sustainable Development. The Strategy puts special emphasis on scientific progress, knowledge, also on development and implementation of modern environmental technologies in Lithuania.
