Abstract

Analysing air quality in differen buildings, the rate of pollution and normal parameters of the air are determined. The air change rate in companies and living houses usually does not exceed 3 hˉ¹. People are the main pollutants in ice arenas and pollution - water vapour, sweat, carbon dioxide and so on, which people secrete during physical activities. CO2 is a pollutant which is not poisonous but can cause some upleasant feelings when the concentration is very high in the air (more than 1000 ppm). Typically ice arenas are over-ventilated to assure that occupants are not harmed from the exhaust gases from ice resurfaces. Ventilating the arena removes the potential harmful gases by replacing polluted air with fresh air. Air change rate in ice arenas can be calculated using the datas of CO2 concentration in the air.
