The article presents investigation into transitional processes of the braking force and speed of the linear induction motor. The expressions of the separate components braking force how time functions were obtained. Analytical expressions obtained for describing forces, power and speed made it possible to calculate the transitional processes and dynamic characteristics taking into account longitudinal and transverse edge effects as well as their interaction. The character and intensity of fluctuation braking force depend on Reynold's magnetic number E0 and the interaction of electromechanical and electromagnetic processes based on the relationship of time constants.
