To simulate natural sedimentation processes in river floodplains, it needs to understand difficult processes, during flood period, that occur in main river and in grassed areas together. Grassed areas can be used extensively for the trapping of small suspended particles. In this article it was identified main sedimentation processes over grassed areas. Sediment settling process in floodplain over grassed areas needs to have method which evaluates density and thickness of grass blades, terrain characteristics, sediment characteristics and absent of resuspension. The replacement of grass layer with roughness in numerical model of suspended sediment transport and trapping is inaccurate, especially in not mowed grassland. We will give some suggestions how sedimentation in inundated grassland can be modified to predict most of main known processes that occur in floodplain during flood period.
