Bituminių emulsijų panaudojimo Lietuvos automobilių kelių dangoms perspektyvos

Abstract

Bitumen emulsions are complex and delicate products to design, produce and finally whose potential behaviour and performance are difficult to predict. Bitumen emulsions for maintenance of roads are going to be used more widefy for surface dressings in Lithuania. The surface dressings having been used in Lithuania are of two types: spreaded bitumen with coated granite chippings and bitumen with uncoated granite chippings. Surface dressings are used against deterioration of old asphalt concrete pavements. Lack of experience of using bitumen emulsion in Lithuania, deeper understanding of their chemico-physical components, together with better assessment of their potential performance is required. The first step to better knowledge of bitumen emulsions is standardization (types and requirements), the second is technology of producing, the third is testing methods and the fourth is application for various surface dressings of road pavement. Composition of bitumen emulsion and qualitative parameters of bitumen, emulsifier, additives etc. are needed to be investigated in present research work.
