Abstract (en)
Recent achievements in science and technology resulted in a higher demand for housing quality and new criteria for assessing building depreciation and its effects. A number of moral depreciation criteria used in the last decades do not meet the requirements and can hardly be considered valid now. Taking into account the actual deterioration and moral depreciation of investigated buildings, the depreciation of all Lithuanian dwelling houses was calculated and the investments needed for their refurbishment were determined. The investments needed for housing refurbishment and the share of public investments in Lithuania were compared with those of highly developed countries.
