Strategy for management of ergonomics risk factors in Lithuania

Abstract

The aim of the study was to create model for ergonomic risk factors assessment ant to present methods for it implementation. New model for ergonomic risk factors assessment is presented as well as improved grouping of factors, which could make influence on work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Model is adapted to Lithuanian con-ditions, but can be used and in other EU countries. Clear competency limits for specialists of ergonomic risk factors assessment were defined by this management model. According to this model Step 1 and Step 2 of assessment can be done by licensed specialist trained according to the special training program of ergonomic risk factors assessment ap-proved by Ministry of Health. Tasks of Step 3 and Step 4 can be carried out by experienced agronomist and certified laboratories. Descriptions of physical ergonomics risk factors are presented as well as methods for assessment of these factors within 1st block of the proposed model.
