Analysis of work safety systems in construction companies

Abstract

In any management system the role of resources is very significant, but even in the very automated management systems or subsystems priorities should be and are given to human resources. Construction business in general, and at the same time a successful working of construction companies, infinitely depends on the competence of employees and quality of made decisions, that is why creation of proper operating conditions and operating environment for company employees becomes a deciding factor, assuring competitive operation results in such fairly stochastic field as construction is. Not only some particular employer of construction company is taking care of employees' working surroundings and conditions, but the state as well, by issuing standards and juristic acts regulating safety and health at work. In the standards there're requirements, usually very minimal, presented to the employers, which, if implemented, assure that worker won't be killed or maimed at work. However, the implementation of standards is related to construction company's economic results only as much as company's costs, intended to this implementation, increase, that is to say, company's work results are not related by common goal function with safe environment for company's employees creation. Thereby, work safety management subsystem in company doesn't have any economic basis, it's only losses it brings to employer or company (in the form of expanses for work safety) and is condemned to vegetate, although there is such provision in the law, saying that employees' life and health preservation is company's underlying activity direction, which is no longer in the law.
