Radionuclides gets to the trees from soil and from air which surrounds the tree. The big influance to the environment was done by aculent in Černobil nuclear plant in 1986. The environment was poluted by radioactive elements in a time of experiments with nuclear weapon. In this work there is investigated some methods for sample taking from trees and preparing of samples for radiometric measurement. Radiometric measurements are done using Ge(Li) γ spectrometer. Experimenticaly is determinated optimal sample filling level of 50 ml measuring cuvette which is placed on the detector of y spectrometer. The pine end birtch timber samples were prepared by the annual tree rings and activity concentrations of the artificial origin radioisotope 137Cs and the natural origin radioisotopes 226Ra. '233 and 40K were defined. It has been determined that the 137Cs activity concentration in the pine timber varies in the course of time. But the greatest pollution caused by this radioisotope and the highest activity concentrations are induced only after 10 years.
