Abstract (en)
Experimental evidence on human reading patterns reveal inaccuracies in the gaze-point coordinates reported by an eye tracker. These inaccuracies are most prominent in the vertical direction. This study was conducted to investigate both the effect of various fixation filters and font size on the estimated inaccuracy. Our results suggest that the first wrong fixation after switching to another line was among the main contributors. These data will be used in developing a more robust algorithm to detect the word being read.
