The several fuel mixtures, including gasoline-bioethanol combinations (E10 and E70), this work explores the effects of hydrogen and oxygen (HHO) gas on the ecological and energy efficiency characteristics of a spark ignition (SI) engine, were used. Under several air excess ratios (λ), experimental investigation was carried out to assess the effects of HHO gas on brake thermal efficiency (BTE), fuel economy, and emissions. Especially in lean mixtures, results demonstrate that adding HHO gas greatly increases BTE and lowers hazardous emissions including nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO). E70 gasoline combined with HHO gas showed the best BTE and lowest emissions, so verifying its possible use as a sustainable solution for maximising engine performance and reducing environmental effect. Programmable control systems and real-time emission analysis were part of advanced experimental settings that guaranteed exact and consistent results, thereby helping to clarify HHO gas as a useful and environmentally benign additive for internal combustion engines.
