Šiandienos problema – kaimo ir miesto šachtinių šulinių vandens kokybė. Nemažai Utenos miesto gyventojų maistui vartoja vandenį iš šulinių, daugeliui – tai vienintelis geriamojo vandens šaltinis. Remiantis atliktais tyrimais, straipsnyje analizuojama šachtinių šulinių vandens kokybė Utenos mieste, aptariami veiksniai, turintys įtakos vandens kokybei ir žmonių sveikatai. Tyrimo metu nustatyta, kad mažuose gyvenamuosiuose sklypuose intensyviai ūkininkaujama, rasti atokesnę vietą šuliniui įrengti nėra galimybės, todėl dalies šulinių vanduo yra nesaugus geriamojo vandens šaltinis.
Water quality of the shaft wels in rural and city territories is a serious problem. Quite a big number Utena inhabitants use well water foro food. In most cases it is the only sourse of potable water. The article analyses water quality of shaft wells as well as the factors affecting the quality of the water and affecting the quality of the water and human health. The analysis is based ont the research that has been carried out. It has been determined that intensive forming is beiny carried out in a small area of land and it is diffcult find a remote plase for the well. According to the research water from 37 wells out of the 64 is not safe fot drinking.
