Abstract (en)

There is analysis of the Kurshes as seafarers inthe Baltic Sea via the specifics of shipping and geographical location of the eastern Baltic Sea and the prism of navy warriors. According to Scandinavian, Latvian, Estonian, Russian folks and historical documents, the Kurshes are shown and vividly characterized as vikingsand this term does not mean the exclusiveness of any nation, but defines the life style in participating in militaryrobberies or conquests. In Balts maritime history contest there is given reflection about lack of Kurshes maritime history research and application for maritime human resources development.
