Application of multimedia and technologies of virtual communication systems to the teaching processes in construction economics and management specializations of distance learning

Abstract

In the paper the application of multimedia and virtual communication systems to the teaching process of distance learning in Construction Economics and Management specialization in Vilnius Gediminas technical university, department of Construction Economics and Property Management is analysed. The general particularity of distance learning is analysed, as well as the means applied in the teaching process, the possibilities to present the material in a multimedia format and the occurring problems. Also the information about the development and application of distance learning multimedia conspectus for the students of Construction Economics and Property Management is presented. The need for virtual communication systems in distance learning is analysed. The analysis on application of multimedia and technologies of virtual communication systems to the distance learning presented in the paper may be useful for the developers and organisers of distance learning education systems.
