Abstract (en)
The article presents a study of the interaction of railway brake shoes with a freight wagon‘s wheel. The cases of deformation and breakage of the railway brake shoe are examined. The main causes are identified. The interaction between the railway brake shoe of various designs with the wheel is modeled. The possibility of improving the railway brake shoe‘s design is analyzed, taking into account the rail and wheel rolling surface profiles. Study conclusions and recommendations are presented.
