Major part of heavy metals (HM) is taken up from the soil through the roots. Rate of the HM transportation is highly related with soil type, amount of organic matter, soil pH. sorption capacity, amount of CaCO3, electric conduction and other physical and chemical properties of the soil. The investigation of HM concentration in different types of soil and their uptake to the tree, it was determined that in sandy soil of Kairiai military ground concentration of Mn was twice as less as in Rukla-Gaižiūnai military ground. It was noticed that concentration ofZn in pine tree is noticeable high (27.63 mg/kg-1 1987-1989 m.) in Rukla Gaiziunai military ground that in Kairiai military ground and can he linked with intensive traffic around. The most effective HM transported from the oil to the pine are Cu and Zn with the carry coefficient to he 0,39 and 0.49 respectively in Rukla-Gaižiūnai military ground and - 0.33 and 0.25 respectively in Kairiai military ground.
