Abstract (en)

Major new financial instruments have either been created or increased their role in financial system; the volume of daily transactions has multiplied; capital has become much more mobile. Innovation has improved the efficiency of international financial markets by offering more flexible range of instruments. The banks and their customers from all countries are trying to be active in innovative business. Financial innovation may concentrate risk in the financial sector, which can make it more vulnerable to large, unexpected changes in the macroeconomics environment.
