Abstract (en)
Composting is a biological process during wich microorganisms and invertebrates decompose the organic matter (dung, sluoge, leaves, paper, food waste, etc.) to a new quality organic matter called compost. Lithuania has no deep tradition of composting. There is one compost manufacturing, though they are rather widespread in USA and many European countries. The excess or deficiently of carbon and nitrogen are the crusial factors affecting the composting process.
