The effect of cationic surfagents on the plasticity strength and macrostructure of raw porous concrete

The data obtained in investigating the plasticity strength and macrostructure of raw porous concrete with the addition of cationic surfagents – amines, diamines and the Leveller A (a mixture of benzosulphonates metyl diathylaminomethyl derivatives of polyethileneglycol alkiphenols) are presented. The addition of amines and diamines increases the gain of plasticity strength in porous concrete considerably compared to the control sample. When the Leveller A is used as an additive at the initial stage of the binder’s hydration (20 – 80 min), the plasticity strength decreases. However, in 100 min, it exceeds the strength of the control sample. With the Leveller A added, the formation mix shrinks by about 10 % after swelling, causing the deformation of the pores of cellular concrete. When the above materials are added in the amount of 0.1 % of dry solids, the diameter of the concrete pores is decreased compared to the control sample with no additives by 1.5 times (with amines added), by 2.17 times (with diamines) and by 2.72 times (with the Leveller A added).
