The application of inductive heating in the environmental engineering field was reviewed in this report. It could be used in many fields like soil remediation, waste processing, benefication of minerals and also for regeneration of granular activated carbon. Recommendations for commercial development and design are given. Causes for reluctant investment in the field of microwave heating and why little attention is being paid are discussed. These include difficulties associated with laboratory instrument capabilities in comparison to industrieal requirements and also to the absence of enough data about material dielectric properties. Due to this the commercialization of the inductive heating process up to data has been slow. In fact, this will become perspective only when it will offer additional specific advantages in relation to other standard way of heating various materials.
