Abstract

One of the most discussed problems in the seaports is noise pollution. Noise emergent under the loading and unloading proceeding. Noise is dangerous for human health and surrounding. Experimental research were done in JS KLASCO terminal which is designed for transshipment and storage of powdery potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus fetilizers. The load is brought to the seaport in wagonloads and is beeing unloaded using vibrators. The fetilizers are often sticky and the only way to remove the rest of them is to set the railcars into vibration. But often a big noise occurs when the railcars are beeing unloaded using vibrators. Researches were done with noise measurement equipment Bruel&Kjaer mediator 2260. The results of the researches show, that the biggest value of sound level was registered near and under the railcars fat the workplace) and it exeeds HN 33 - 1:2003 limits. Noise level directly depends from the type of used vibrators. When 2 vibrators were used, noise level reached 21 dBA, in the meantime when were used 7 vibrators, noise level reached 24 dBA.
