Modelling of structural design process and development of efficient numerical realization techniques to obtain optimal and safe structure always is under necessity. Design codes in principle lead to realization of analysis stage i.e. to an identifying of the actual structural response values under prescribed parameters of structure and external actions. The optimization methods of steel bar structures implementing principal serviceability requirements according Eurocodes are developed. The introduced general techniques ensure an identifying the optimal parameters of structure responding to external loading in elastic and inelastic ranges. An implemented reliability-based discretization method of loading process advantages also in reduction of actual carrying capacity resource. Presented iterative optimization techniques coupling pure analysis and optimization problems can be easily adapted to obtain structure from standard profiles sets. Proposed optimization techniques are illustrated by optimization of pin-jointed structure.
