Abstract (en)
Moving interface and free surface flows are modelled by several interface capturing techniques. The level set method is implemented in the finite element code and tested. The results of the level set method are compared with that of the height of liquid method and the scalar equation method available in the finite volume code PHOENICS. The perfomance of interface capturing techniques is compared with that of mesh surface fitted methods used in finite element codes. The numerical experiments include the simulation of free oscillations is a tank.
