Peoples everyday activity is related with generation of waste. The amount of wastes is increasing every year and in parallel problems of waste management is increasing. The deposition of waste into the landfills is still the cheapest and widespread way of waste management in the world. According to the statistics, in 2000 waste management companies of Lithuania received 3182 thousand t of waste. The largest share of it was deposited into the landfills. The landfill gas collection and utilization systems are frequently installed on purpose to avoid negative influence on the environment. The landfill gas formation process according to Farquhar and Rovers is discussed. The utilization opportunities of landfill gas are analyzed depending on the level of gas upgrading. Key factors that define an ideal application for landfill gas and factors that are unfavorable to the usage of gas are presented. Waste formate and regulation - is a one principally environmental protection problem. Great quantitys organic waste take away to the dumps. This article analyse processe organic waste destruction and biogas quantity and quality composition. The utilization of biomass to produce energy is one of the most importantant and accessable renewing sources of energy in our country.
