Article deals with concentrically loaded compression masonry member made of solid module clay bricks used in Lithuania. Masonry thickness is assumed not less than 38 cm, i.e. with longitudinal mortar joint through the length of the masonry. Investigation revealed that ratio of brick compression grades by Eurocode and the acting code is 1,4. Design strength of the brickwork by Eurocode varies from 0,7 to 1,7 of thad according to the acting code. Ratio of buckling factors by ES and the acting code varies from 0,82 to 1,36. Carrying capacity of compression concentrically loated member according to ES is equal to 0,57-2,30 of that by the acting code in Lithuania. For the most practical cases carrying capacity by ES related to the characteristic load is 0,61-1,16 of that by the acting code when ratio of design loads by ES and by the acting code value of 1,25 is assumed.
