Abstract (en)
Transport traffic safety depends on many factors. The efficiency of the vehicle braking is one of them. It depends on the reaction of the driver, the braking system, the quality of tires, the characteristics of the road surface. The pneumatic brake system and system elements are considered. The mathematical models of the pneumatic brake system are presented. The flow of gas in pneumatic brake system is described by a system of equations of a hyperbolic type, which is solved by a characteristics method.
