The control of data quality is widely discussed currently - criteria of quality evaluation are defined, methods for measuring data quality are proposed, but lack of automated data quality control methods and tools is the problem that most organisations faces. As quality of data is of the highest importance for some organisations, the need to automate data quality control is actual and relevant issue. E-learning activities are exclusively based on an electronic format and all material is stored in a paperless form. Thus automated computerised data quality assurance methods are required. The paper proposes the automated method of data quality control implementation in information systems. The presented method is based on implementation of business rules, defined in business system models represented using UML, as data validation queries. Derivation of business rules, that reflect data quality requirements, from UML models is presented. The paper introduces a software prototype as realisation of proposed method.
