Wheel-rail interface problem is analyzed in the article. The present and the perspective wearing decrement possibilities of the rails and wheels of the rolling stock, their advantages, disadvantages and sphere of utilization are discussed. Experimental research object is determined - it is the dependence of the wearing of the flange of the rolling stock on the lubrication of the wheels and the dependence of the wearing of the rails on the width of the gauge. Methodology of the experimental research, results and evaluation, as well as the reliability of the research, are presented. The suggested wearing decrement possibilities of the rails and wheels are evaluated in economical point of view.
