Abstract (en)

The paper presents the investigation of indoor air quality in 19 naturally ventilated apartments of new built, renovated and unrenovated buildings in Vilnius. Research has shown that the issue of poor air quality exists in most of analysed cases. Average defined carbon dioxide concentration in analysed apartments during non-working hours exceeded recommended value by 30%. In 4 of them CO2 concentration regularly exceeded 2500 ppm – the limit when indoor air quality becomes hazardous. Average defined tightness of the apartments is equal to 0.276 h-1. The survey of occupants has also shown the lack of knowledge and inhabits concerning efficient natural ventilation.
