Data mining enables companies to gain additional value from the data they have collected for a long time. Electricity industry, like many others, also has several problems to be solved by data mining. Electricity industry differs from others in the way that electric power can not be stored- the amount produced must be equal to the amount consumed. Therefore they need to have in place a predictive model which would predict the amount of the energy to be consumed.
